A New Year
I ended 2013 with a solo exhibit of my quilts-it was great to see some of the larger ones on a big wall, and a group of the small ColorForm pieces all together along a hallway. When they all came home, I decided to reorganize my closet space, and put each series together so I can find them easier. Since several of them have found new homes, I began the new year making some new, small ColorForm pieces. And now I am ready to work with some new ideas I have had, and and gear up for an exciting year ahead. In February I will be able to have a large group of quilts at a wonderful restaurant in the Logan Square neighborhood, in Chicago. In April, I have one of my large ColorForm pieces in a show in Dallas, TX in the Museum of Geometric Art. It is called "Quilts: the New Geometry".
And so I think of a quote I saw recently, by Stephen Sondheim:
"White. A blank page or canvas. So many possibilities."

I'd love to know the name of the Chicago restaurant, and specific dates for the show. I live about 200 miles away, but go in to Chicago from time to time, and would love the chance to see some of your quilts in person
ReplyDeleteI will be hanging work on Feb 17th, and they will hang for a couple of months-I don't know the end date yet. It is called Dunlay's on the Square-their food is delicious! I live in the northwest suburbs-I would be glad to have to come to my home to see more of my work if you are ever in the area.
