A New Year

I ended 2013 with a solo exhibit of my quilts-it was great to see some of the larger ones on a big wall, and a group of the small ColorForm pieces all together along a hallway. When they all came home, I decided to reorganize my closet space, and put each series together so I can find them easier. Since several of them have found new homes, I began the new year making some new, small ColorForm pieces. And now I am ready to work with some new ideas I have had, and and gear up for an exciting year ahead. In February I will be able to have a large group of quilts at a wonderful restaurant in the Logan Square neighborhood, in Chicago. In April, I have one of my large ColorForm pieces in a show in Dallas, TX in the Museum of Geometric Art. It is called "Quilts: the New Geometry".

And so I think of a quote I saw recently, by Stephen Sondheim:
"White. A blank page or canvas. So many possibilities."

  1. I'd love to know the name of the Chicago restaurant, and specific dates for the show. I live about 200 miles away, but go in to Chicago from time to time, and would love the chance to see some of your quilts in person

    1. I will be hanging work on Feb 17th, and they will hang for a couple of months-I don't know the end date yet. It is called Dunlay's on the Square-their food is delicious! I live in the northwest suburbs-I would be glad to have to come to my home to see more of my work if you are ever in the area.
